Collingwood sits on the south shore of Georgian Bay in Ontario, built up around Blue Mountain, the escarpment that gives the town its ski hill in winter and its hiking and biking trails the rest of the year. It is a compact, walkable town, not a sprawling resort strip.

Blue Mountain Ski Resort
Ontario's largest ski area, cut into the Niagara Escarpment with groomed runs, terrain parks and lit slopes for night skiing. Rentals, lessons and lift tickets are booked separately from your stay.
Blue Mountain Village
The pedestrian base village at the foot of the hill, closed to cars, lined with restaurants, shops and an open-air stage. In summer it runs the Ridge Runner mountain coaster and an alpine slide down the hillside.
Wasaga Beach
One of the longest freshwater beaches in the world, a short drive from Collingwood along Georgian Bay. Wide, sandy and shallow for a long way out, it is the default hot-weather day trip for families staying in town.
Scenic Caves Nature Adventures
A network of caves and crevices in the escarpment above Collingwood, crossed by a 420-foot suspension bridge with views back over the bay. Ziplines and a summer luge run add to the day.
Georgian Trail
A paved rail trail running along the Georgian Bay shoreline into historic downtown Collingwood, past the old grain terminals and harbor. Good for a flat bike ride or an evening walk after a day on the mountain.
